Merge XML code with Groovy Node Builder Code

There's nothing AFAICT in the custom groovy builder node implementations that would prevent them from being used in XML (non-xstream) generation. It would be great to merge that code so there's less to maintain and the features and supported nodes would be similar between the groovy builder and the XML config files.
